Every day we had the most amazing picnic lunches either beside the Midi Canal, in a bull ring, park or beside lakes, rivers in historic places or maybe at a small cafe in a village. We all contributed to the menu by shopping at the local market square of the villages we cycled through. Buying in the markets was really fun. We tried to speech french and negotiate price and make decisions of what kind of cheese etc to buy - the tasting was great! Over time we ate all sorts of finely sliced meat - ham, brawn, goat, duck, chicken and a few .... we even tasted before being told what we'd eaten! Delicious! Refreshments purchased during our vineyard visits all helped to ensure our meals were wholesome and took in the flavour of the local area. Bottoms up! Take a look - we certainly did not intend to starve. In fact we lived, ate and cycled very well. The camaraderie was excellent and we all got on so well, looked out for each other, chatted, laughed and were absolutely blessed with our tour organiser and guide (Barbara Grieve) who ensured our every need was catered to and more!
